Good conversation is tough to find on the road…
Dogs & Water by Anders Nilsen… O M G
Really? Really? How crap has the universe or world or just existence in general gotten that it comes down to a dude in a basket carried by three big fucking birds shooting a handgun at Finhead Rednicks in pretty gross jeans and suspenders shooting back with their equally crap handguns…
… WTF
Okay, so let’s say your city in under siege by what I will playfully refer to as Finhead Rednecks, your citizens are in danger, your outer wall has suffered some serious damage and the enemy is literally at your gates. What is your only logical response?
Two guys in a blimp. No, wait wait wait. Instead of an air bag, why not get three big fucking birds to carry the basket! That can’t go wrong, right?
Until one of the guys gets killed and the basket get shot to shit… Hopefully the big fucking birds just drop him and go eat the Finhead Rednecks…
… holy crap
Where does one even begin… The illustrator, R Courtney, does not exist beyond maybe 14 credits, all in the 80s. But they managed to get in some pure gold in a very short time, like this Philip K cover and a pretty awesome Chose-Your-Own-Adventure for Penguin. But that aside, no biographical anything.
And now to examine this master work of scifi hilarity…

The Invisibles by Grant Morrison Vol. 1 & 2 - ah-mazing series(re-reading)
Caracole by Edmund White - Odd yet awesome and as far as I know the writer’s one offering not grounded in reality(the book takes place in an imagined metropolis not unlike Paris under Nazis Occupation)
The Sacred Book of the Werewolf by Victor Pelevin - ohmygoodness(re-read, possibly better the second time through)
The Beautiful Room Is Empty by Edmund White - queer fiction set in the 50s thru to the Stonewall riot, masterful
The Silver Stone(book two of the Keepers of the Hidden Ways) by Joel Rosenberg - highly fun fantasy, a very light read
